Introduction

DevBox Tools is an independent project providing free online tools for everyday and professional tasks. We strive to process as little data as possible and use only the information necessary for the proper functioning of services.

This Privacy Policy explains what data may be processed when using DevBox Tools, how we work with information entered by users, and what rights are available to you under GDPR and CCPA.

This Policy applies only to DevBox Tools and does not regulate data processing on third-party sites that may be linked from our tools.

Within this Policy, the terms "DevBox Tools", "we", "site", and "service" refer to the online platform devbox.tools and its tools, and "user" refers to any visitor to the resource.

1. Who We Are

DevBox Tools is managed by an independent team of developers.

Contact: info@devbox.tools.

DevBox Tools is not a legal entity and does not collect data that allows identifying users.

2. Age Restrictions

DevBox Tools is intended for users over 16 years old. If you are under 16, please do not use our services. We do not knowingly collect or process data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will promptly delete such data.

3. Data Processing Principles

We adhere to the following principles:

  • collect the minimum data necessary for the operation of the site and tools;
  • do not create user profiles;
  • do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties;
  • do not store user input after operation execution;
  • use data exclusively for technical functioning of services and analytics.

4. Data You Enter in Tools

Many DevBox Tools allow you to:

  • enter text, URL or email;
  • upload files (e.g., XML, sitemap, robots.txt);
  • generate QR codes;
  • check IP or User-Agent;
  • make API requests.

How we process such data:

  • Input is used only to perform the selected operation.
  • We do not store user input and do not save processing results after request execution, except when required for diagnosing technical errors.
  • We do not create copies, analyze or use content of user files or texts for other purposes.

Important

⚠️ It is prohibited to enter personal, sensitive or medical data into DevBox Tools services.

5. Data of Article Authors and Experts

As part of publishing materials on the DevBox Tools blog, we may process personal data of authors. Such data is provided voluntarily by authors and includes:

  • name and surname;
  • brief biography or description of expertise;
  • position and place of work (if specified by the author);
  • photograph;
  • links to public profiles on social networks.

The basis for processing is the author's explicit consent to publish their personal data as part of the article and on the author's page.

Author data is used exclusively to designate authorship, confirm the expertise of materials, and display information about content creators.

The author has the right to request modification or deletion of their data by sending an email to info@devbox.tools.

6. Logs and Technical Data

We use standard Next.js logging. Server logs may temporarily record:

  • request execution errors,
  • technical information about system operation.

IP address may be temporarily processed automatically by the server or third-party API only to execute the technical request. We do not use this data to identify users and do not save it.

7. Cookie and Local Storage

We use Cookies. They are used to collect visit analytics. These cookies do not allow identifying the user's identity.

We use localStorage only to cache technical data (e.g., Emoji catalog) to speed up service performance. Personal user data is not saved in localStorage.

8. Analytics and Advertising

We use an analytics system that collects anonymized visit data.

Anonymized statistical data is collected:

  • page visits,
  • clicks,
  • technical device parameters,
  • site performance.

We do not use Google Analytics or pixels or counters from advertising systems.

9. Tools and APIs Involved in Data Processing

Some tools send user-entered data to APIs necessary for operation:

  • Currency rate determination API
  • IP/GEO IP determination API
  • Website screenshot creation API
  • Emoji API
  • Other tools

These APIs are used only for technical purposes, data is not saved after processing. APIs may process user-entered data such as website URL, email, IP address, text strings and files of any format. Data is used only to execute the request and is not saved.

DevBox Tools may use various API providers for proper tool functioning. DevBox Tools may change the APIs used. In case of significant changes affecting data processing, we will update this Policy.

10. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • know what data is being processed;
  • request data deletion if we store it (usually — no);
  • prohibit the use of analytics cookies (you can disable them in browser settings);
  • request restriction on data processing in cases provided by GDPR;
  • contact us regarding privacy matters.

Right to withdraw consent to use analytics cookies at any time by changing your browser settings or clearing cookies. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted before such withdrawal.

11. California User Rights (CCPA)

We do not sell or transfer personal data to third parties. A separate "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" page is not required as DevBox Tools does not conduct commercial activities with user data.

We do not engage in "selling" or "sharing" of data as understood by CCPA/CPRA, including data transfer for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data that is temporarily processed for technical purposes — such as IP address, website URL, uploaded file or request text — is used exclusively to execute the selected tool, is not stored and is not used to identify the user. Such processing is short-term technical in nature and is not considered "data collection" under CCPA.

12. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect data, including:

  • HTTPS connection
  • absence of user input storage
  • minimal logging volume

We strive to ensure a high level of security. However, by transmitting information over the internet, you accept the risk that absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

13. Limitation of Liability

DevBox Tools provides services "as is". We are not responsible for any damage resulting from the use of DevBox Tools or their results.

We do not guarantee:

  • accuracy of tool results,
  • continuous site operation,
  • absence of errors.

14. Policy Changes

We may update the Policy without special notice. The last update date is indicated at the beginning of the document. By continuing to use the site, you agree to the updated version. The user is responsible for regularly reviewing the current version of the document.
